    GREETINGS FELLOW DEMOCRATS!

    Block Walking...

We are block walking this Saturday in Precincts 25 and 33. Please come to the office at 9:45. 307 S. Main T. #102. We are at the corner of 28th and Main. Our precincts are heavily Democratic Precincts and ones we must turn out the vote in. We will give you maps and flyers and addresses. The county party has no position on any candidate so we are not handing out candidate material. If you want to hand out our stuff and your stuff that is fine. But the county party cannot have any position. We are supporting Democrats.

We should leave at 10.00. Precinct 25 is in Bryan and 33 is in College Station. But please meet at the office.

We will be walking, weather permitting on March 1.

If you have questions give me a call at the number below.

    2008 McMurrey - Noriega Debate

Many people were unable to attend or view online the debate last week between myself and my opponent.

Fortunately, through the help of Mike Heidenreich from the University of Texas Liberal Arts Instructional Technology Services, the debate is now available on the Web.

To listen to the debate, click here. Click on the debate file, and you will be given the option to either download the mp3 or listen to it on the Web (by clicking the "Play" tab).

I urge you to vote early. There has been record turnout throughout the state. Your voice matters in this election, and not only in the presidential primary!

You can find your early voting locations by consulting your local newspaper or contacting your County Clerk or Tax Assessor-Collector. The Texas Secretary of State offers a list of election officers who you may contact to find early voting locations in your town.

Bring your friends and family with you to vote! It's time to stand up for progressive values and show the nation that Texas is fed up with politics as usual.

I look forward to your support in this primary, and, as always, urge you to contact me with any questions, suggestions or comments you may have.

    Yours,

    Ray McMurrey

    We still need Election Workers...

If you can give us one day on March 4 to work a long day for a very little amount of money we would appreciate it. We expect heavy turnout and need extra workers.

    Comment on E.J. Dionne Column...

This was posted as a comment to the E.J. Dionne column about McCain and terrorism that ran in the Houston Chronicle. According to its web site, The City Edition is a San Francisco newspaper tailored to the interests of women. The article says Karl Rove did not go into retirement, but is still working to undermine Democrats.

    Debate Watch Party

    Dear Fellow Democrat,

I'm pleased to announce that Senator Barack Obama and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton have confirmed they will attend the TDP Debate Watch Party after this Thursday's historic Presidential Debate in Austin.

The Watch Party will be held from 6:30 PM-10:30PM, at the Hyatt Regency Austin, and will also feature entertainment by special musical guest Kelly Willis.

Senator Clinton and Senator Obama have both proven to be skilled campaigners who are qualified to restore responsible leadership to the White House, leadership that serves the people of our country instead of the lobbyists and special interests. Texas Democrats are eager to hear directly from our candidates as they compete in a primary that could prove pivotal in determining who will be the next President of the United States, and I'm delighted that they have chosen to let us hear from them at the TDP's Debate Watch Party.

The appearance by Senator Obama and Senator Clinton isn't only a chance to meet two extraordinary Democratic leaders--it is a chance to be part of a moment in American political history. You can still purchase a ticket to the Watch Party for $50 or $35 if you are a Texas Majority Builder.

Please note, due to the fact that Senator Clinton and Senator Obama will be in attendance, we expect this event to sell out quickly. I encourage you to purchase your ticket today, as tickets will not be available at the door.

I hope you will join me and our two outstanding candidates as we watch history in the making right here in Texas.

    Your friend and fellow Democrat,

    Boyd L. Richie
