GREETINGS FELLOW DEMOCRATS!
Volunteers needed...
...to person the office on Election Day. Maggie and Linda hit the road at 6:30 a.m. to be sure that our polling places are up and running. If you can come and spend even the morning we would appreciate it. Chuck Wiggins, County Chair will be back in town and can cover for the afternoon. Respond to this email or call 779-5600.
A thank you...
...to all the volunteers that helped us put together snack bags for our Election workers...over 160 bags. We couldn’t do it without you.
Election Day
There will be Department of Justice attorneys on the ground on March 4. If you see them at your polling place please be polite and sweet and happy.
Fellow BC Democrats...
It has been my personal opinion that Maggie AND Linda have provided our small but mighty band of Demos with unbiased and informative articles on ALL candidates, legislation and important points of action. Everyone in the Democratic Party in Brazos County owes these two ladies a deep debt of gratitude from the bottom of our BLUE hearts! It is not easy rooting through all the propaganda that they must translate to give us food for thought, especially during this election season.
Hats off and thanks to Maggie Charleton and Linda Coats for your tireless efforts and passionate quest to flame the fires of the local Democratic Party and breathe life back into what many of us remember as the strong foundation upon which Brazos County was built.
Gratefully,
Elizabeth Scott

Thank you Elizabeth. Linda and Maggie
THE RED COATS ARE COMING, THE RED COATS ARE COMING!
I was at a meeting with the Vice President for Student Affairs at A&M this morning and found out that Mike Huckabee and Faux News' Shepherd Smith will be here Friday until Election Day (Huckabee will speak Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the Rudder Theatre complex and Smith will be in the MSC Flag Room covering the election). I think it would be a great thing if our Democrats united to show them that this community also supports Democrats. Perhaps a way to unite us locally? Just a thought...
The "score" on John McCain
Two weeks ago John McCain was the only Senator to duck a crucial vote on the future of clean energy in America -- dooming to failure the measure that would have helped make renewable energy more affordable and accessible. Now it turns out this missed vote is part of a pattern.
Last week, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) released the 2007 National Environmental Scorecard giving Senator McCain a score of ZERO. According to the scorecard, McCain was the only member of Congress to skip all 15 crucial environmental votes scored by LCV.
Can you help spread the word about McCain's 0% environmental voting record and write a letter to the editor? The opinion page is widely read in most communities -- and a well-placed letter can reach a broad audience. We've included sample text to get you started.
McCain's LCV score exposes the real record behind the rhetoric -- a lifetime LCV score of 24, a history of siding with the polluters and special interests, and a consistent pattern of ducking important environmental votes.

Thanks for taking action.

Radio host: I'm mad at McCain
When we last left radio talk show host Bill Cunningham yesterday, John McCain was busy apologizing for the red-meat comments Cunningham tossed out as a warm-up act at a McCain rally in Cincinnati.
Cunningham isn't too happy about McCain's repudiation, to put it mildly.
Our sister newspaper, the Cincinnati Enquirer, covers the aftermath, noting Cunningham told CNN's John Roberts that "all was well. No problem whatsoever until about an hour later . . .when John McCain threw me under the bus, under the Straight Talk Express. I got thrown under the bus."
"Why is he attacking me and not Obama or Hillary? He ought to attack Democrats and quit attacking conservatives like me," Cunningham said. "I've had it up to here with John McCain. He's off the list. I'm joining Ann Coulter in supporting Hillary Rodham Clinton."
