There is a lot of **** going around about Obama

A lot of it is lies. Some of it has some truth to it. I would recommend that you not use Move On.org or Obama’s website. There is nothing wrong with them. But if you are talking to scared people the source needs to be impartial . These 2 sites do that. Vote smart has their voting records and that is a fact...Mc Cain does not support Veteran’s issues... that is a fact because.....look at vote smart. He has a 20 % approval rating from Disabled American Veterans. Obama has 80%.. That is a fact. Taxes seem to be a big issue. Fact check deals with that with impartial facts. (that’s sort of an oxymoron)

Political Forums at Presidential Libraries

All of the presidential libraries are hosting three forums on critical issues during this election (http://bushlibrary.tamu.edu/museum/issues_forums.php). The forums are sponsored by National Issues Forums Institute and funded by the Kettering Foundation. The first on energy is next Tuesday night, September 9, (http://bushlibrary.tamu.edu/museum/events.php?id=360), there is one on health care September 23 (http://bushlibrary.tamu.edu/museum/events.php?id=361) , and a third one on education.

Alaska: Palin seeks review of Monegan firing case

Gov. Sarah Palin has taken an unusual step: She's made an ethics complaint against herself. She wants an Alaska state board to review the circumstances surrounding the dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan.

Her lawyer sent an "ethics disclosure" Monday night to Attorney General Talis Colberg. The governor asked that it go to the three-person Personnel Board as a complaint. While ethics complaints are usually confidential, Palin wants the matter open.

The lawyer, Thomas Van Flein, also asked the state Legislature to drop its own investigation into the Monegan matter. He says the Personnel Board has jurisdiction over ethics, but a senator running the investigation immediately refused.

The 13-page document gives Palin's view of a controversy that's dogged her for weeks. Questions about whether she, family or her administration pressured Monegan to fire her ex-brother-in-law, state Trooper Mike Wooten, are now receiving intense national attention with her newfound prominence on the national stage. Republican Sen. John McCain announced Friday that she's his pick to be vice president. - More...
